On September 19 more than one thousand interested persons visited the open day arranged by the Ministry of Transport where the subordination institutions and enterprises presented the branch of transport and communications. ri.
Ten expert teams from institutions and enterprises subordinated to the Ministry of Transport, including representatives of the RIGA International Airport answered the questions of visitors of open day, offered different informative materials and involved in attractive contests.
In the stand of the RIGA International Airport students could not only make a test on the parameters of the airport and aviation branch, but also to test their ability to state in an X-ray picture whether no prohibited items are in the bag of a passenger. Public relations project manager Santa Auguste, personnel selection expert Lolita Livčāne and aviation safety instructor Edgars Marcinkevičs introduced with the work in the airport, answered the questions of students and took care about the design of the stand.
In the stand student mainly could obtain information about the new RIGA International Airport , flight geography, aviation safety requirements, personnel and how it possible to check-ic for flights in four ways.
Approximately 200 students made the test about the airport. The majority showed average results, having 5 mistakes out of 30 questions. Many students had more than five mistakes, but ten students who has got acquainted with information available in the stand, made the test with no mistakes or with only one mistake. These students were awarded with a souvenir – anti-stress toy plane, breloque or a chocolate with a logotype of the airport.
In addition student groups and other interested persons made a tour in the RIGA International Airport.
Among the visitors of the event there were both pupils and students from the regions of Latvia and inhabitants of Riga. The open day took place within the framework of State administration open day and Latvia 90th anniversary.
