Aim of training
To instruct and train the airport personnel whose duties include driving of vehicles on the airfield and handling of aircrafts by means of specialized handling equipment.

Course content
- Documentation, laws and regulations, definitions, terms, general rules
- Categories of vehicles and access passes
- Arrangement of traffic, traffic signs and horizontal road markings
- Service roads, aircraft taxiways, lanes between the aircraft stands
- Distance from the working aircraft engines and aircraft fuelling hazards
- Starting to drive and changing the direction of driving, usage of external lighting equipment
- Transportation of passengers and cargo
- Actions in case of a vehicle breakdown or a spill of technical fluids
- Limited visibility rules
- Speed limits
- Traffic accident reporting procedure, liability for the breach of the traffic rules and the penalty points system
Benefits
On completion of this course the personnel will know the airside traffic rules and regulations of Riga International Airport.
After a successfully passed test of knowledge the trainees will receive the airport driver's licence with a validity term of 2 years.
Course duration
8 hours, including the knowledge assessment test.
