RIGA International Airport enters the international flight rating

According to the aviation industry market research publication OAG Aviation Solutions (OAG) RIGA International Airport for the second time has entered the top 100 rating of world’s airports in terms of the number of international flight passengers welcomed per week.

With 68 847 available seats on international departing flights in the week from 29 March to 4 April RIGA International Airport ranked as the 96th busiest world’s airport in the OAG top 100 rating.

Krišjānis Peters, Chairman of the Board, said: „Being ranked among the top hundred world’s airports in terms of the seat capacity on departing international flights shows not only the potential of Riga as a tourism and business destination, but also the success of RIGA International Airport as the transit centre of the region. We demonstrate internationally that we have the infrastructure and skilled and professional staff to serve serious traffic volumes.”

For several decades already the leading position in this rating has belonged to Heathrow in London serving more than 800 thousand seats in international departing flights per week.
