Riga Airport to Conduct an Emergency Situation Training

During the night hours from Thursday, 29 October, to Friday, 30 October, Riga International Airport  will conduct an emergency situation training event focussed on checking the internal airport procedures and the liaison with the state emergency services and airlines in case of a crisis situation.

According to the plan, in the exercise emulating an emergency scenario with dangerous infectious diseases the following parties will be involved: the members of the airport’s crisis liquidation teams, the national airline airBaltic, the emergency medical service, the staff of the Medical Company “ARS”, the students of P.Stradiņš’ Medical College of the University of Latvia as well as other institutions and organisations.

We kindly request the passengers and airport visitors to stay calm and react to the situation with understanding. The training event will not affect the passenger service and the flights will take place according to the schedule.

Riga International Airport is the biggest air traffic hub in the Baltic countries. In the winter season, Riga Airport offers flights to 69 destinations operated by 21 carriers.
