Starting from today the passengers of the airline RYANAIR have an option to pay Riga Airport security charge by their mobile phones via the payment system Mobilly by texting RIX to number 1859.
The passengers will receive a code on their mobile phones that must be shown to the security control staff at the airport.
Soon the RYANAIR passengers will also be able to pay the security charge on the airport’s website www.riga-airport.com . The work at introduction of this functionality is in its final stages.
We wish to remind the passengers that as of 1st January 2012 a new procedure for collection of the security charge at the airport has been introduced. All the airlines operating at Riga Airport, except RYANAIR, have agreed to include the security charge into their air fare. Those RYANAIR passengers who have bought their tickets after 1st January 2012 before departure must pay 7 euros or 4.92 lats. The cash payment at the airport can be made only in lats. Transit and transfer passengers and infants under two years of age are released from payment of the security charge.
The security charge can still be paid:
• while checking in for a flight at Riga Airport (by a bank payment card);
• at RYANAIR ticket office of Riga Airport (in cash or by a bank payment card);
• at the airport services office „Welcome to Riga!” (Arrivals Sector E – in cash or by a bank payment card);
It should be noted that by 7 February more than 8500 security charge coupons have been sold.
