Iberia Express will operate the route Riga – Madrid

On 3 July a new Spanish carrier Iberia Express opened traffic from Riga to the capital of Spain Madrid. There will be two flights a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

A special cake was made to celebrate the new flight with a symbolic flamenco dancer on top.

By launching flights to Mykonos and Edinburg the airline in July will have completed the development of its route network and in the summer schedule there will be six European routes available, with Amsterdam to be added in September.

Luis Gallego, CEO of Iberia Express said that „Iberia Express complies with Iberia’s best standards and offers a completely new concept of express .”

„Spain is a favourite destination of many Latvians, particularly in the holiday season. Now it will be easier for them to plan their trips with the direct flight to Madrid at their disposal,” said Arnis Luhse, Chairman of the Board of Riga International Airport.

The airline will operate on the route Madrid – Riga – Madrid from 3 July to 15 September.
