JCDecaux Latvija wins an exclusive 10-year contract to operate in the advertising areas of Riga International Airport

The environment advertising company JCDecaux Latvija has signed an exclusive 10-year advertising contract with Riga International Airport on the management of the airport’s advertising space and placement of advertising objects.

Ms Jeļena Brokāne, Director of JCDecaux Latvija, said: "The cooperation contract with Riga International Airport is a natural addition to the airport division of JCDecaux Group. JCDecaux is a global leader in the airport spatial advertising operating at the airports in Paris, London, Frankfurt, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore and many others.In my opinion, the management of Riga Airport has made another resolute step towards the modernisation of the airport space by entrusting the management of advertising activities to professionals. It is the airport that gives us the first impression of the country of our destination. Advertising is the element of the environment that can either improve or spoil this impression. Therefore it is important for us to contribute our work and experience to creation of a positive first impression of our country."

To date the restructuring of the advertising environment at the airport has already begun as the newly signed contract stipulates that JCDecaux will take the matters over as of 1st April 2012.

Mr Arnis Luhse, Chairman of the Board of Riga International Airport, said: "We are gratified that the advertising space of Riga Airport will be managed by internationally renowned and respected professionals. If previously only one person was in charge of this work, now it will be done by a team. It is essential that under this contract the airport retains the right to display the social advertisements vital for all the groups of the society. Very soon half a million euros will be invested in the modernisation of the advertising locations. The airport income, too, is expected to exceed the present figure as the new operator begins to work."
