Riga Airport has signed an agreement with the budget airline Ryanair

Riga Airport has signed an agreement on the provision of ground handling services with the budget airline Ryanair. In view of the general practice in aviation, the agreement with Ryanair is signed for the term of three years and its provisions do not differ from those agreed with other low-cost carriers.

As of 1 April 2015, Ryanair passengers need not buy the security charge coupons any more as Ryanair has agreed to include the security charge into its fare (RL Cabinet Regulation No 823 „On the charge for security and rescue services provided at the aerodrome”). Those passengers who have purchased the security coupons and have not used them, may return them to Ryanair ticket offices at Riga Airport until 30 September 2015, or send an application by post attaching the following items: the unused coupon, the document proving the payment (a cashier’s check or a printout from the Internet bank).

In the summer season Ryanair operates 55 flights a week from Riga Airport, whereas in the winter schedule the carrier will open a new route Riga  - Berlin - Riga.
