Assistance for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM)

Developing its infrastructure, the airport takes into account the needs of persons with reduced mobility(PRM) and is constantly striving to improve its performance.

On the 26th of July 2008, the new European Regulation 1107/2006 came into full force. As a result, disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility (PRM) may not be refused boarding on the grounds of disability or lack of mobility, except for safety reasons (which will have to be justified to the passenger in writing by the corresponding airline). The regulation stipulates that the airport is responsible for ensuring assistance to the PRM without additional charge.

RIGA International Airport complies with this regulation providing quality assistance to the PRM both upon departure and on arrival at the airport.
