The Cabinet Regulation No 360 “Epidemiological Safety Measures to Limit the Spread of Covid-19 Infection” issued on June 09, 2020 describes requirements and procedures to provide healthy and safe services. Chapter No V of the Regulation No 360 sets Restrictions on International Passenger Carriage, Tourism and Travel and concerns Air Travel.

Main restrictions:

From June 10, 2020 International Passenger flights are performed to the low and medium risk Covid-19 countries published on the website of  the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC). Low and medium risk countries are those where the infection index is below 25 people per 100 000 inhabitants (average rate of the past 14 days) and marked in white and yellow - allowed. Flight restrictions apply to the countries with high infection risk (marked in red - forbidden).  The information on the CDPC website will be updated every Friday.

According to the amendments to the Cabinet Regulations, from 16 July, before entering Latvia, all passengers of international passenger carriers will have to submit a completed questionnaire to their carrier, indicating the countries that they have visited during the last 14 days, their contact information, and the address chosen for performing two weeks of self-isolation, as well as confirming their compliance with the national epidemiological safety measures.

Therefore the following procedure will be in force at RIX for each arriving passenger flight as of midnight, 17 July:

  • Cabin crew must distribute the questionnaire forms to all passengers during the flight.
  • All passengers on board aircraft must complete the questionnaire in their chosen form language.
  • All passengers must submit the completed questionnaires to cabin crew before disembarkation.
  • Upon arrival, RIX GH turnaround coordinator will contact cabin crew and collect the completed questionnaires.
Questionnaires for passengers are available on the website of the Ministry of Transport.
