As of 25 January, FFP2 respirators or medical masks are mandatory in the Airport terminal

27/01/2022

According to the Cabinet decision, from 25 January, passengers are allowed to stay in the terminal of Riga Airport only wearing a respirator not lower than FFP2 without a valve or a medical face mask.

Travellers and persons meeting travellers who do not use this protective equipment may be denied access to the Airport terminal; therefore, we encourage you to take care of them in advance. However, those arriving to the Airport without a respirator/mask, can purchase medical masks from self-service vending machines at the entrance to the Airport terminal departure hall.

Face masks or respirators should also be used by people who have been vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19.

The only exceptions are children under the age of 7 who do not have to wear respirators or masks, and children between the ages of 7 and 12 who can wear cloth masks. Persons who cannot use personal protective equipment for medical reasons are permitted not to use a respirator/mask.

It is allowed not to use a respirator/mask in catering places while seated, or when receiving services during which it is not possible to use a respirator/mask.

The Airport reminds that a FFP2 respirator or medical mask must be used in public transport, taxis, shops, and other public places in Latvia.
