Wizz Air, the largest budget airline in Central and Eastern Europe, from 24 April opens flights from Riga International Airport to Lübeck (Germany). Flights on the route Riga - Lübeck – Riga from April 24 will take place twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays – whereas starting from 3 June the flights will be scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays. The carrier will perform the flights on the aircraft Airbus A320.
The first flight was celebrated with a special cake in the form of a marzipan heart symbolizing famous Lübeck’s marzipan industry. According to a local legend, for the first time marzipan was made in Lübeck.
