In September 2007 the number of passengers using airport’s services increased by 30% (more than 305 000) compared with September 2006. In nine months Riga airport handled 2 368 000 passengers and in October the number of passengers will exceed the total of 2006.
The number of passengers in Riga airport still remains above 300 thousand, although in August it was higher. In June 2007 for the first time in Riga airport history it was used by more than 300 thousand passengers per month and the number still grew in July and August. In September the number of passengers diminished, but it was due to the end of tourism season, but still could be evaluated as high.
In nine months of 2007 the number of passengers using airport’s services increased by 26.5% (2 368 000 in total) compared with September 2006. It is forecasted that in October the number of handled passengers would exceed the total number of handled passengers in 2006, which was 2 495 000.
It is predicted that Riga airport would handle three million passengers per year for the first time in its history.
