New budget airline starts operating from "Riga International Airport”

This is the first time "Germanwings" airline has operated flights from "Riga International Airport". There are currently 16 airlines operating from “Riga International Airport”.

“„Germanwings” was founded on 27th October 2002 as a German budget airline. “Eurowings Luftverkehrs AG” is its shareholder. The administration office of the company is in Cologne and its home airport is Cologne/Bonn. There are more than one thousand employees in the company and it has 27 Airbus A319/A320 aircrafts.

7.1 million passengers chose “Germanwings” in 2006; the turnover of the company was 560 million euros.

All “Germanwings” flights in Europe have prices starting from 19 euros, including airport tax.
