Armavia airline commences operations at SJSC Riga International Airport

The airline will operate direct flights to Yerevan once a week from June 2 on Mondays. Flight times will be three hours and 45 minutes and the flights will be operated with an A 319 type airliner.

Krišjānis Peters, Chairman of the Board of SJSC Riga International Airport, Jānis Baļķens, Vice- President and Member of the Board, Norayr Belluyan, Director General of Armavia, and Head of the airline’s founding company Mika Armenia Trading LTD participated at the press conference.

Armavia was founded in 1996 and is Armenia’s national airline and the aviation market leader in this country. Armavia’s founders are the Armenian organisation, Aviafin LTD and Mika Armenia Trading LTD. The airline whose main base is Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan employs more than 550 employees. Today, the Armavia provides its customers with the widest flight network connecting Armenia to Russia and the CIS states, as well as to Europe and the Middle East. Armavia operates more than 70 regular weekly flights to 30 destinations in 13 countries around the world.
