In August 2010 for the second time in the history of RIGA International Airport the number of passengers per month exceeded half a million reaching 518 709, or 21.1 percent up compared with August 2009 when the airport welcomed 428 168 passengers.
In the eight months of 2010 RIGA International Airport handled 3 134 405 passengers or 17 percent more compared with the same period in 2009 when 2 679 533 passengers used the airport’s services.

In August 2010 the airport handled 7 023 aircrafts or 21.9 percent up on the result of August 2009 (5 762 aircrafts). In the eight months of this year in total 45 775 aircrafts were handled or 15.2 percent more than last year (39 736 aircrafts).
In the month of August 1 041 tonnes of various cargoes were handled exceeding the result of last year’s August by 44.4 percent (721 t of cargo). In the eight months of 2010 7 537 tonnes of cargo were handled or 33.3 percent more than in the same period of 2009 when 5 655 tonnes of cargo were handled.
