On Monday, 16 May, at Riga International Airport the first direct flight on the route Riga – Budapest was launched. To celebrate this event the passengers of the first flight were treated to a special cake in the form of the Rubik’s Cube because Hungary is the birthplace of Ernő Rubik, the inventor of this popular 3-D puzzle.

The airline airBaltic will operate direct flights to the capital of Hungary Budapest four times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The flights will be performed on the aircraft Bombardier Q400, and their duration will be approximately two hours and 15 minutes.
