Until the end of the state of emergency, it will still be allowed to enter Latvia for important and urgent reasons only

To limit the risks of the spread of the Covid-19 virus, especially the new strain, and to prevent a rapid deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the country, on 25 February, the government decided to extend the entry restrictions.

 


Restrictions on entry will continue until the end of the emergency - 6 April. It will be allowed to enter Latvia for urgent and important reasons only:

  • work;
  • training, studies;
  • family reunion;
  • in order to receive medical services;
  • transit;
  • accompanying a minor;
  • return to one’s permanent place of residence;
  • attending a funeral.

At the same time, the government decided not to extend the ban on direct passenger flights to Great Britain, Ireland and Portugal, thus as of 26 February, flights from Riga Airport to these countries will be possible.
