Candidates have been Nominated for the Post of Chairman of the Board and Members of the Board of Riga International Airport

The Supervisory Board of SJSC Riga International Airport had announced a competition for the post of Chairman of the Board and Members of the Board of Riga International Airport, and based on the Nomination Committee’s assessment has selected candidates to be approved by the shareholder.

The competition was organised in two rounds in accordance with the competition regulation. The first round was document assessment (work experience, education and vision for the development of the company). Three candidates for each post, who had received the highest score in the first round, were nominated for the second round. The second round was held in the form of a structured interview, assessing the candidate's ability to provide competent answers to specific questions, strategic planning capabilities, management capabilities, the ability to set goals, make decisions and assume responsibility, communication skills, language skills.

The decision of the Nomination Committee on the eligibility of the candidates was adopted in accordance with the evaluation criteria set out in the competition regulation, taking into account the total score obtained in the first and second round.

The Supervisory Board of SJSC Riga International Airport, based on the assessment made by the Nomination Committee, which was composed of representatives of SJSC Riga International Airport Supervisory Board, the Ministry of Transport, the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Centre, the Employers Confederation of Latvia and SJSC Latvijas gaisa satiksme, decided to nominate the following persons for the shareholder's approval: Armands Jurjevs for the post of Chairman of the Board, and Ilona Līce, Lauma Jenča and Irina Feļdmane for the post of Member of the Board of Riga International Airport.

In response to the announcement, 63 applications were received for the post of Chairman of the Board and Members of the Board of Riga International Airport. The Nomination Committee scrupulously evaluated each applicant, taking into account the specific nature of the company and eligibility of the applicants. According to the decision of the Nomination Committee, none of the candidates met the requirements set for the Member of the Board responsible for the company's core activity. For this reason, the Supervisory Board announced a repeated competition for the post of the Member of the Board responsible for the company's core activity. Altogether 15 applications have been received, and the competition for the post of the fifth Member of the Board is still ongoing.

Riga International Airport is the largest air traffic hub in the Baltics, serving 45% of the air passengers in the Baltic States. The 20 airlines operating at Riga Airport offer 69 destinations in the winter season and 79 in the summer season.
