International conference on airport development to be held in Riga

EAD08 will assemble the leading representatives from the airports, airlines, aviation associations of the developed and developing countries as well as the European and national legislators to discuss the issues of the ever-faster moving world. According to the EU estimates, through implementation of the Schengen Agreements the air traffic by 2020 will double, therefore the topics of the conference will include the airport development and the potential of cooperation with Russia.

The most prominent experts of the industry will share their experience and address both strategic issues involving the state governments and the customer service. A vast range of issues will concern the development of airports in Europe:

  • Diversification into airport cities
  • Low cost airports
  • How to minimise capital expenditure by efficient use of existing infrastructure
  • New generation airport. Combining quality, flexibility and sustainable costs.

The EAD08 conference will take place on 9-10 September in Reval Hotel Latvia. The media representatives wishing to attend the conference are kindly invited by International Airport Review and RIGA International Airport to complete the accreditation form available on the website of RIGA International Airport and send it to Santa Auguste by fax to No. 67211767 by 29 August (including).

On 9 September at 11.00 all media representatives (including those not accredited to EAD08 Conference ) are kindly invited to a press briefing held in Beta 2 Hall of Reval Hotel Latvia. The press briefing will be attended by the Minister of Transport Ainārs Šlesers and the Chairman of the Board of RIGA International Airport Krišjānis Peters.
