Excellent location at the heart of the Baltic States
The airport has a unique geographical location at the centre of the three countries. It allows Riga Airport to serve the whole population of the Baltics, which stands at approximately 6 million people. Riga Airport is located only a 15-minute drive from Riga city centre, the biggest population centre of the Baltics, which, together with the metropolitan area, stands at around 1 million people.

In 2030, a terminal extension with a capacity of 12 million annual passengers will be completed. It will include expanded check-in and security areas and technologies that will speed up passenger processing and increase commercial revenues. In the future the terminal will also have a direct and convenient connection to the Rail Baltica train station and RIX Airport City.
