In Latvia, access to the airport ground handling market is granted in accordance with Cabinet Regulation No. 447, “Procedures for Granting Access to the Airport Ground Handling Market”. This ensures that the selected service providers will provide safe, high quality ground handling services that comply with international standards.
A-CDM procedure
Riga Airport uses A-CDM procedure, which ensures timely exchange of accurate information between airport users, aircraft operators, ground handling companies, air traffic controllers and others involved from flight planning to the moment the aircraft lands on the runway. It allows more accurate planning of aircraft take-off time and reduces passenger waiting time, reduces resource and fuel consumption costs associated with waiting time before take-off and preparing aircraft for flight. It also reduces environmental pollution and noise. This procedure has been officially certified by Eurocontrol. Read more about the project here.
