About the project

RIX Airport City is a new mixed-use development at RIX Riga Airport: the leading aviation hub for the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Riga, Riga Airport is an important growth engine for one of Europe’s most dynamic regions, providing quick connections by air and road. With the completion of the Rail Baltica project, it will also offer high-speed rail links to all three Baltic capitals.

RIX is currently undergoing a major transformation with the development of its new passenger terminal extension, positioning the airport as an emerging hub of Northern Europe and a next-generation air-rail gateway. Scheduled for completion in 2030, the terminal will have the capacity to serve up to 12 million passengers annually and will significantly expand the airport’s connectivity and passenger experience.

The new terminal will seamlessly incorporate the Rail Baltica station, linking the airport directly to the high-speed rail network connecting the Baltic capitals and further to Finland, Poland, and Germany. Once completed, Rail Baltica will enable comfortable journeys from Riga Airport to Tallinn and Vilnius in less than two hours.

Frequent rail connections will also link the airport with Riga Central Station – just 15 minutes away – effectively extending the city’s central business district directly to the airport.

Located on the doorstep of this new air-rail hub, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform RIX Airport City into the best connected business district in the Baltics. Our mixed-use vision for the 24+ ha site includes an airport hotel, offices, and retail; along with services for passengers, cargo handlers, and the local community.

AIRPORT TERMINAL. The new airport terminal will include a spacious and modern check-in hall and security control area, a new baggage claim hall, and modern baggage sorting facilities.

RAIL BALTICA STATION. With direct access to the Airport terminal and RIX Airport City, Rail Baltica station will ensure the convenience of reaching Riga City center in 8 minutes and the rest of the Baltics within 2 hours.

THE PLAZA. The Plaza is the central part of RIX Airport City with a pedestrian street surrounded by offices, hotels, shopping and dining areas, all leading to the Rail Baltica station and the Airport Terminal.

PARK WITH A LAKE. The park and the lake is a recreational area where city visitors will have the opportunity to relax by the water and re-energize. The lake park will be connected with the plaza with a pedestrian bridge.

PERIMETER TERRITORY. The territory around the park will host business-related activities, with the main focus on office buildings, research and development facilities, factories for light manufacturing and warehouses that will ideally serve the needs of aviation-related businesses.
