Today the Latvian airline airBaltic launched its first direct flight from Riga to Marrakesh in Morocco. airBaltic now connects the Baltic States with the world’s second-largest continent – Africa. Marrakesh is a great gateway to the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert, and offers plenty of places of interest.
Pauls Cālītis, Chief Operations Officer at airBaltic: “We are excited to launch our first ever scheduled route to Africa. Marrakesh or the so called Pearl of the South is both an exotic and warm destination, and important centre of economics, also for Latvia. Moreover, it has plenty to offer for culture lovers as well. As the leading airline in the Baltics, we continue to build our network, adding more captivating leisure destinations also for the winter season.”
Flights between Riga and Marrakesh in Morocco are scheduled to take 5 hours and 30 minutes, and will be operated by the Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
airBaltic continues to offer the best connectivity to and from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, as well as Tampere, connecting them with leading European business centers and transit hubs. A complete schedule of airBaltic flights and tickets are available on the company's homepage at www.airbaltic.com.
