Starting 11 October, flydubai, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will begin its operations in Riga, offering travellers flights between Riga and Dubai three times a week.

The airline today announced its plans to launch flights from Dubai to Riga, Basel, Tallinn, and Vilnius later this year, increasing its European route network to 43 destinations in 21 European countries.

Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith: "Our new routes to the Baltic region and Switzerland will make it even easier for travellers to reach Dubai, both to visit and to take advantage of Dubai's potential as an aviation hub for their onward connecting flights." Flydubai's destination map includes flights to destinations such as Malaysia, Maldives, Mombasa, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Zanzibar.

The airline will use its latest Boeing 737 aircraft for the new routes. Flights departing from Dubai Airport Terminal 3 will offer both business and economy class seats. A round-trip flight from Riga to Dubai will cost from EUR 380 in economy class to EUR 1370 in business class.

Tickets for flights between Riga and Dubai can already be purchased on the airline's website flydubai.com, in the flydubai application, and through travel agencies. The full list of the flights is available here.
