The company's operational data show that as the summer flight season continues, 748.3 thousand passengers were handled at RIX Riga Airport in July and more than 3.9 million since the beginning of the year.
In comparison with last July, the total number of passengers has increased by 6 % this year. The direct passenger numbers have also increased by 6 % as compared to 2023 (553 thousand passengers); compared to July 2019, the number of direct passengers has grown by 4 %.
In July, the number of transfer passengers reached 26 % of the total number of passengers, or 195 thousand, which is 7 % more than in July 2023.
453.3 thousand passengers chose the national airline airBaltic for their trips to and from Riga in July (60 % of the total number of passengers), while the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair handled 159 thousand passengers (21 %) at Riga Airport in July.
