Today, Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, opened flights from Riga International Airport to Doncaster/Sheffield.
The flights are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays and will be operated on Airbus 320 aircraft.
In honour of the new route, the passengers were treated to a special cake decorated with a figure of tractor, due to the fact that Doncaster has an agricultural machinery plant, and the tractors Case built in this plant are used at Riga Airport too.
