As a result of an international tender, a new advertising operator – Media Port, a subsidiary of the Turkish company Square Group – started its operations at Riga Airport in April.

Media Port is the leading advertising operator at the new Istanbul Airport, where it has been operating since its opening in 2018. The company's parent company Square Group was founded in 1999 and it manages an extensive network of out-of-home advertising sites in various Turkish cities such as in city centres, subway and train stations, shopping malls, large formats like building facades and also such innovative projects as a shared bicycle park with advertising sites in the Turkish city of Konya.

“With its parent company’s 20+ years of experience in the advertising industry and a stellar network of brands and agencies, Media Port has a competitive edge in the aviation advertising industry. We believe the city of Riga is the crown jewel of the Baltics and Riga Airport holds great potential in terms of the global travel and retail dynamics. Our aim is to increase the variety of the advertiser portfolio, contribute positively to passenger travel experience and elevate Riga Airport to being the leading airport in Europe,” says Dilruba Palambo, CEO of Media Port.

“We are delighted to commence our cooperation with Media Port, which has excellent experience in managing advertising at Istanbul Airport, and which was selected as the Europe's biggest and best airport in 2021 by Airports Council International. The plans of Media Port to pay special attention to the development of digital advertising at Riga Airport by investing in new large-format digital screens will open up new opportunities for advertisers and improve passenger experience”, says Artūrs Saveļjevs, Board Member of Riga Airport.

The contract with Media Port has been concluded for a period of four years.
