Riga International Airport Steps Up Fast Track Security Control

27/04/2009

Janis Balkens, the Vice-president of the state-run joint-stock company Riga International Airport mentions only few of the advantages offered by the innovation: “The improved instant security control system completely exceeds the previous one. The business-class passengers and the airlines’ loyal clients will enjoy more comfort. Also, the new system will be applied to the domestic flights, which will increase their attractiveness in comparison to automobile traveling.”

The upgraded instant security control system is situated on the second floor of the airport terminal, near the airport’s information centre. The current security control system for A and B departure sectors from now on will serve the economy class passengers.

Riga International Airport provides quality services to 19 airline companies. One of them, the Latvian airBaltic, offers domestic flights to Latvian cities – Ventspils and Liepaja.
