The supply of electricity

SLR is the supply of electricity to users who do not have a selected electricity trader and have not concluded a valid contract. It ensures continuity of electricity supply. This way, users who do not have an active electricity supply contract will not be left without electricity at the site.

The price of SLR electricity varies from month to month. It is composed of:

• the (dynamic) weighted average price of the price district of Latvia of the Nord Pool AS electricity exchange;
• the extra charge of the supply of last resort determined by Riga Airport, i.e. 0.01314 EUR/kWh, excluding VAT.

The electricity bill consists of several parts. The price of the supply of last resort and the extra charge only form one part of the bill. The monthly bill to customers consists of the price for the electricity consumed, the system operator service charge, the mandatory procurement component (MPC), and VAT.
