Collaborative Projects
You may apply for airport support if your organization or institution operates in one of the priority areas defined in our Community Support Policy:
- Environmental Protection – Projects and activities that promote climate change mitigation (including eco-innovation), circular economy, environmental and biodiversity protection, and public education on environmental issues.
- Well-being of Affected and Local Communities – Initiatives that contribute positively to the welfare of local and affected communities, enhance residents’ skills and knowledge, support youth and seniors, and foster an environment conducive to entrepreneurship.
- Investment in the Future Workforce – Projects that develop the skills and knowledge of residents, especially youth and socially vulnerable groups, creating broader employment and entrepreneurship opportunities—particularly in aviation and tourism—and encouraging interest in technology and STEM education in Latvia.
- Tourism and Business Development – Activities that promote tourism and entrepreneurship in Latvia, create new products and services, and support innovation and technological advancement.
Support for collaborative projects may take the form of financial contributions, free airport services, volunteer work, or other types of assistance.
Project Application
To apply for support, you must complete the project application form.
All applications that meet the priority areas and criteria outlined in our Community Support Policy are evaluated by the airport’s Sustainability Committee. In cases of equally qualified projects, preference is given to public benefit organizations and social enterprises. Applicants are personally informed about the outcome of their submissions.
Project Reporting
Recipients of support must submit a report to the airport either annually or upon project completion. The report should detail how the provided funding or support was used and the results achieved. The airport reserves the right to request additional information and documentation and to verify the accuracy of the submitted data.
Supported Projects
In 2024, the airport did not provide support to any collaborative projects.
Donations and Gifting
Donations and gifting are among the airport’s forms of community support. A donation (gift) refers to the transfer of financial resources or property from the airport to a private individual, another company, or a public entity, free of charge. These actions are carried out in accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Squandering of Public Funds and Property, related legal regulations, the airport’s internal policies and values, and stakeholder input.
To contribute to public welfare in line with the priorities, principles, and directions of our Community Support Policy, we donate financial resources and property to activities that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Deliver significant long-term impact and public benefit
- Are implemented on a broad scale
- Encourage participation from wide community groups and/or airport employees
- Have costs proportionate to the expected economic impact (short- and long-term)
- Are led by entities with sufficient experience in implementation
- Help strengthen our brand value and reputation
Donation applications can be submitted via our website under the “Donations and Gifts” section. Each application is reviewed individually, based on available financial resources. A formal donation agreement is signed for each approved donation.
Donation Usage Reporting
Recipients of donations must submit a written report to the airport by March 1 each year, detailing how the donation was used. The report should include the purpose of the donation, the amount received and its usage, the activities carried out, and an evaluation of the achievement of the donation’s goals and its contribution to society.
The airport reserves the right to request additional information and documentation from the recipient and to verify the accuracy of the submitted data.
